Lauren June Svendsen, 41, spent 13 years teaching at North Salem Middle/High School.
A White Plains native, she received her bachelor's degree from Western Connecticut State University and her masters and sixth-year degrees from the College of New Rochelle.
Lauren's family will receive relatives and friends at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury on from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday.
When not teaching, Lauren enjoyed photography, art, interior design, reading, skiing and the beach.
She was an All-American Eastern Conference softball player at WestConn and in her younger years also enjoyed dancing, horseback riding, and Tae Kwon Do.
In addition to her parents Bruce and Kathy (Newman) Svendsen, Lauren is survived by her sons: Colin Gardner and Erik Kubel, her fiance: Matt Kubel, her brothers Scott, Timothy and Christopher Svendsen, her future father- and mother-in-law Jeffrey and Gillian Kubel, future brother-in-law, and numerous cousins.
A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Edward the Confessor Church, 21 Brush Hill Road, New Fairfield.
Family and friends are asked to please meet directly at the church.
Burial will be at the convenience of the family
